Regis University’s Department of Athletics is seeking applicants for a Graduate Assistant position in its athletic department. The graduate assistant will provide essential support services for a 12 sport NCAA Division II athletic department. The graduate assistant’s position will be a 50/50 split between sports information and external operations.
The sports information responsibilities will include serving as the primary contact for men’s and women’s cross country, men’s and women’s golf as well as game day duties for men’s and women’s basketball. In addition, the graduate assistant will assist in home and away event coverage of other varsity sports. The position will report directly to the Sports Information Director and will perform tasks as assigned, including but not limited to: in-game statistical keeping, writing and editing of press releases; website content creation and maintenance.
The graduate assistant’s role in external operations will include, but will not be limited to, developing and implementing a robust group ticket sales program to increase revenue for the athletic department. Assisting in game day tasks related to group ticket sales and sponsorship fulfillment. Furthermore, the graduate assistant will assist in annual fundraising tasks including updating of collateral, processing of gifts, and fulfillment of donor benefits.
Bachelor’s degree and acceptance into a Regis University graduate program. Must have proven written and oral communications skills. Sales experience a plus. Candidates will have experience in StatCrew, basic Microsoft Office and Excel. Nights and weekend hours required along with occasional travel. Start date is flexible, but recommended no later than August 1, 2017.
Candidates should possess strong writing/editing skills, attention to detail and a willingness to work hard and learn. They will have to be able to multi-task in a setting with frequent interruptions. Prior experience in a college athletic department setting, is highly preferred.
Additional Salary Information: The graduate assistant position is a two or three-year assignment beginning with the 2017-18 academic year. The graduate assistant will receive $15,000 in the form of a scholarship to cover tuition, fees and some living expenses.
