Washington Timbers Football Club (WTFC) is seeking an experienced Technical Director who can demonstrate leadership to our advanced competition teams and their coaching staff to cultivate the vision and mission statement established by the WTFC Board of Directors. The Technical Director will be responsible for creating a positive environment where all WTFC coaches and players can develop and improve to maximize their full potential at all ages - Leadership is critical.
Duties and Responsibilities of the Technical Director
The WTFC Technical Director is in charge of the development and implementation of age appropriate coaching curriculum and programs for the club's advanced competition teams.
The Technical Directors responsibilities will include but not limited to:
Recruit, train, and oversee coaching staff for Junior Acadamy-U19
Design and recommend a coaching compensation structure considering club financial constraints and market data
Design and implement a college prep program
Maintain office hours
Lead with set up and organization of all tryouts
Provide coaching education. Interact, observe and run model training sessions
Ensure all player reports are completed by coaching staff 2x year
Attend and contribute to as many competitive games as possible
Attend bimonthly staff meetings and provide a comprehensive report
Recommend/ nominate / facilitate players for ODP, Timbers Academy, RCL, etc. Execute all communications with outside clubs, selection pools, and coaches
Be a head coach, as necessary
Lead in coordination of practice / game field schedules
Provide yearly written and verbal coaching evaluations to coaching staff
Promote Clash of the Border Tournament, Summer Slam Tournament, and other club sponsored functions
Organize regular coaches meetings (quarterly) and communicate regularly with coaches.
Be visible with outside clubs, selection pools, and coaches in order to build positive relationships with other programs and promote WTFC

Applicants ideally will have a USSF A, or B, or the NSCAA or European license equivalent.
College Degree preferred
Have demonstrated effective leadership, organization, and written / verbal communication skills
Thorough knowledge of youth soccer development and the youth soccer landscape
Candidate must have high level playing experience and a minimum of five years of coaching experience
Candidates must be able to pass a criminal background check
Demonstrated proficiency in MS Word, Excel and presentation software as well as proficiency with social media applications/software

Base Salary will be commensurate with education and experience.
