Primary Role: Assist the Sports Information Director and Associate Athletic Director for Athletic Communications with the delivery of sports information services and media relations.
Typical Duties and Responsibilities: • Prepares and distributes all athletic publications, including, but not limited to, game programs, team guides, weekly releases, game re-caps, and human-interest stories. • Proficiency in desktop publishing and in the creation of print material such as game day programs and marketing pieces. • Primary maintenance of the athletic department’s social media platforms. • Primary creator and developer of athletic department video content for the website; including digital team guides, pre-season outlooks, game recaps and short video productions. • Primary supervision over the creation of the year-end athletic awards celebration (The Alfies); including photo and video production and assistance with script production. • Contributes to and supports efforts in the completion of materials relevant to the annual Hall of Fame Event. • Contributes to the maintenance of the athletic department website. • Co-maintenance of the athletic department photo and video library. • Prepares, maintains, and distributes all necessary statistics, rosters, and results. • Contributes to the successful operation of home event video streaming. • Trains and supervises student workers and interns, providing specific direction and oversight of assignments and responsibilities. • This position involves responsibilities for evening and weekend work hours.
Supervision Required/Given: Receives direct supervision from Sports Information Director and Associate Athletic Director for Athletic Communication. Must work collaboratively and supportively with other individuals and groups. Trains and supervises student workers and interns, providing specific direction and oversight of assignments and responsibilities.
