Hope College invites applications for a part-time Men's and Women's Assistant Swimming Coach. Hope is a member of the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association and NCAA Division III. The athletic department supports the College mission to assist students to lead lives of leadership and service in a global society. The position reports directly to the Head Swim Coach and Co-Athletic Director.
Responsibilities include supporting the head coach in conducting the swimming programs in compliance with all NCAA, MIAA, state, national and institutional rules and regulations, including but not limited to:
Assisting with organizing, preparing and executing effective practice and meet strategies
Assisting with the management of successful program operations including travel arrangements and game day organization
Assist with the recruitment and retention of quality student-athletes in accordance with NCAA, MIAA and institutional rules, regulations and guidelines
Monitoring and nurturing student-athletes' academic and personal development
Representing the program and Hope College with sportsmanship, integrity and professionalism
Develop positive relationships with faculty, staff, students, media and alumni, while interacting successfully with department personnel and the college community.
Coaching experience preferred, college coaching experience preferred
Proficient with technology applications applicable to the position
Demonstrated organizational and management ability
Strong interpersonal communication skills
Knowledge of NCAA and MIAA rules and regulations
Appreciation for and understanding of NCAA D-III athletic philosophy
