The Director of Broadcast Engineering is responsible for all engineering aspects and equipment maintenance for Athletic Department video productions. This position will also assist with technical issues for all Network TV broadcasts that originate from Athletic Venues.
25% - Essential - Lead Broadcast Engineer: Directs all Broadcast Engineering of Live Video Productions for ACC Network linear broadcasts, ACC Network Extra digital broadcasts and PawVision video board broadcasts. Troubleshoots and corrects any technical issues that may occur before or during a live production. Assists Network Television production crews with venue wiring issues during setup.
25% - Essential - Broadcast Shading Direction: Hires, trains, and supervises personnel to serve as Video Shaders for all live productions. Occasionally performs video shading of cameras during some live events as needed. Maintains extensive knowledge of video shading and video shading equipment.
25% - Essential - Video Equipment Management & Maintenance: Maintains all live video production equipment. Checks out all equipment to game day staff and checks in equipment after each production. Maintains all equipment in the production control rooms. Conducts preventative maintenance on equipment as required. Coordinates all repairs and preventative maintenance with outside service professionals. Coordinates all warranty and maintenance agreements with Vendors including providing yearly budget allowances needed and tracking expenses to ensure proper budget management.
15% - Essential - Wiring Management: Coordinates and supervises all vendors hired to install, maintain and repair fiber, video and audio wiring in all athletic venues. Assists with maintaining, trouble-shooting, and repair of fiber infrastructure in all athletic venues. Assists with maintaining all video and audio wiring infrastructure in all athletic venues.
10% - Essential - Budget Management: Oversees certain portions, including equipment management, equipment maintenance, and wiring services, of the Athletic Video Services budget. Performs other duties relative to procurement and financial management as assigned.
A bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture or engineering technology and journey-level engineering or architectural work experience. A master's degree in engineering or architecture and entry-level engineering or architectural work experience may be substituted for the required experience.
