SUNY Cortland seeks candidates for a full time, 9.5 month Strength and Conditioning Coach. Reporting to the Director of Athletics, this position will coordinate and oversee all strength and conditioning programs for the student-athletes across all sports. This position will include teaching courses in Kinesiology.Major responsibilities: Overseeing and managing all aspects of strength and conditioning for each of the 25 varsity intercollegiate teams, including but not limited to: designing and implementing year-round strength and conditioning programs that will enable athletes to achieve maximum performance in competition; providing instruction, motivation and nutritional advice to student-athletes; managing the daily operations of the athletic weight rooms: maintaining a safe working environment, outfitting the facilities with proper equipment, scheduling the facilities, as well as hiring and supervising support staff. This position will also be responsible for teaching a related course for the Kinesiology Department each semester.
Master's degree in a related field to Strength and Conditioning; CSCS certification through the National Strength and Conditioning Association; relevant coaching experiences in strength and conditioning.
Collegiate-level or professional strength and conditioning experience; evidence of successful collegiate-level teaching experience in strength and conditioning or related fields; experience with building/creating successful strength and conditioning programs for collegiate-level or professional athletes.
