The University of West Georgia's Head Coach for Men's and Women's Cross Country/Women's Track and Field reports to the Athletic Director and leads all aspects of the competitive men’s cross country, women’s cross country and women’s track and field programs at the Division II level in the Gulf South Conference. The Head Coach of these three programs provides support to the student athletes both academically and athletically, and is expected to represent UWG in a professional manner that aligns with The University of West Georgia’s strategy and culture.
Bachelor’s Degree and three years of coaching experience. One year experience in coordinating athletic contests and events such as cross country meets. Must be energetic, professional, and committed to improving the UWG cross country and track programs. Ability to promote a positive environment that allows the student athlete to succeed academically, athletically and in the community. Knowledge of the rules and skills needed for men’s & women’s cross country and women’s track and field programs. Ability to instruct student athletes in skills and safety. Ability to recruit talented student athletes. Knowledge of NCAA and Gulf South Conference rules and procedures. Valid driver’s license.
Preferred: Collegiate coaching experience; Master’s degree; experience in managing budgets; experience with NCAA compliance.
