The University of West Georgia Head Golf Coach reports to the Athletic Director and leads all aspects of the competitive men’s and women’s golf programs at the Division II level in the Gulf South Conference. The Head Golf Coach provides support to the student athletes both academically and athletically and is expected to represent UWG in a professional manner that aligns with The University of West Georgia's strategy & culture.
Bachelor’s degree is required. At least three years of coaching experience. Must be energetic, professional and committed to improving the UWG golf programs. Ability to promote a positive environment that allows the student athletes to succeed academically, athletically and in the community. Knowledge of rules and skills of golf. Ability to instruct student athletes in skills and safety. Ability to recruit talented student athletes. Knowledge of NCAA and Gulf South Conference rules and procedures.
Preferred: Collegiate coaching experience; Master’s Degree in an associated field; experience managing budgets; experience with NCAA compliance; experience and knowledge of USGA rules of golf.
