Job Description

Assists the Director & Coordinator of Sports Nutrition with the following: administrative tasks, appointment scheduling, body composition testing (Bod Pod), lab work data entry, analysis, and applicable student-athlete education, development and design of educational materials, face to face nutrition education for UAA coaches, staff, & student-athletes, food record entry and analysis, managing undergraduate volunteers, meal and menu planning and design, ordering, storing, & distributing NCAA compliant snacks & supplements, scheduling meals for team home & away competitions, supervising the student-athlete Training Table (student-athlete dinners), supplement reviews for student-athlete education per NCAA guidelines, other responsibilities will be delegated as needed.

Additional Salary Information:

Position is 12 to 24 months in duration beginning in June of 2010. Position is compensated at minimum wage and is paid biweekly for the duration of the internship. The employee hired for this position is eligible to participate in the employee group insurance benefit programs, which include health, dental and life insurance coverage. This position is eligible for tuition reimbursement for up to 36 hours of graduate level course work.


Requirements

BS degree in related field (ie. dietetics, nutrition) is required prior to start date. An MS degree &/or RD and experience as an athlete, athletic lifestyle, &/or completion of sports nutrition related classes is preferred.
