Job Description
The Men’s and Women’s Swimming and Diving Head Coach is responsible for duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics. This is a 12-month appointment.

General Responsibilities:

• Serves as the primary recruiter for the Men’s and Women’s Swimming and Diving Program, identifying and evaluating potential students with that interest and organizing their recruitment in conjunction with the office of Admissions. • Organizes, in conjunction with the athletic director, all aspects of the Men’s and Women’s Swimming and Diving Program, including facility, game, practice and operational issues. • Acts as a visible person to represent the College in a positive manner and to heighten the awareness of the institution to all of its constituents. • Work closely with the promotional and fund-raising efforts of the Athletic Department. • Follow all institutional and NCAA regulations regarding identified sport in particular and athletics in general. • Make budgetary suggestions regarding the proper operations and staffing of the areas of responsibility. • Enforcing the Student Athlete Code of Conduct at the college. • Establishing study table hours for those student athletes who are experiencing academic difficulty. • Recruiting student athletes in sufficient numbers to be able to field a team at the average GLIAC roster size for this sport. • Projects and promotes the highest standards for student actions in order to best prepare them as solid citizens and alumni. • Oversee a second area of responsibility in regard to the athletic department operations. • Other duties as assigned


Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Physical Education, Sports Management or related field preferred. A minimum of 3-years experience in coaching intercollegiate athletics or an equivalent combination of education and experience. • Ability to objectively evaluate physical performance and mental capabilities related to the intercollegiate athletic program. • Knowledge of intercollegiate athletics, rules and regulations of athletic associations and conferences. • Effective planning and organizational skills. • Knowledge and skill in using integrated software systems and Microsoft applications. • Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with students, faculty, staff and the public. • Skill in facilitating and modeling a quality customer service orientation. • Ability to work effectively with an ethnic, cultural and diverse student population.

Special Requirements: Qualified applicants need to have the availability to work evening and weekends, possess a valid driver’s license for transportation of team in vans or bus, and the ability to travel for team practices and competition. Candidate is subject to a criminal background check prior to employment.
