Job Description
Under the direction of the Assistant Athletic Director for Media Relations, the individual in this position will serve as the primary media contact for Ohio’s volleyball, men’s basketball and men’s and women’s golf contacts, in addition to serving as the secondary football contact. Duties include maintaining sport notes and cumulative statistics, producing pre-game and post-game releases and publicity materials, compiling game/event statistics, planning and coordinating interviews of student-athletes and coaches by media, creating game programs, and designing, writing and editing media guides. This position also assists with maintaining, developing and coordinating Ohio Athletics Department website and the production of department publications.

Requirements
Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s preferred. Minimum of two-five years experience in intercollegiate sports information, media relations, public relations or journalism is required, including at least one year of website maintenance. Excellent organizational, communication, and public relations skills required, along with the ability to work with deadlines. The preferred candidate will also exhibit excellent writing and editing skills, a basic understanding of terminology and statistics involved with college sports, a practical knowledge in desktop publishing (on a PC platform preferred) and an understanding of website management and html language. Must be able to manage and train staff to meet the needs of the individual sports.

Candidates must have outstanding leadership, management, and interpersonal skills to relate to a wide diversity of faculty, staff, students and community members.
